Just when I thought I was getting some respite from the arthritis, as usual, its come back to bite me squarely in the arse! Its that situation where its easier to work out where it doesn't hurt, compared to where it does! And so for now, just about everything is sore...... and has been for several days. This means as well as the slow release tramadol, I've had to hit the regular tramadol. Okay - except it makes me sleepy as hell. To be truthful, the slow release does, but at least I can function on some level. So I've spent a few days just trying to clear the fog in the brain, and that isn't without the fatigue this damn disease causes.
No, I'm not having a very good time of it lately. I know it'll pass, it always does but in the meantime I'm one crabby bunny!
Hi What meds are you on apart from tramadol
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteSulfasalazine 500 mg and Methotrexate 10 mg
How long have you been on those for?
ReplyDeleteI tried Sulf didn.t help also MTX injected into stomache once a week 25mg couldn't face the stuff in the end made me feel terrible for want of a better phrase. Now on Gold its the least invasive does it help a little but sick to death of drugs. Also have FMS as well reason i mention this one is cause you said brain fog
Take care
Hey,
ReplyDeleteSulf. for about 4 years now, MTX for a year. Have moved and waiting for new specialist, cos was due to get increase in MTX to then come off the Sulf if possible - not really doing a lot. Know what you mean about the drugs...... gotta do what you've gotta do though haven't you.
Nope, you have to take contol before they the drugs control you. MTX is a potential killer long term, (well thats my opinion.). Whats your current ESR levels i know they are not conclusive evidence for activity but its a guideline.
ReplyDeleteWithout going to hunt down my meds booklet, I began on over 50 before mtx, and it is around 32 on average. A few weeks ago it went back up to 40 when I had to come off because of a viral infection, but last bloods had come back down to 33. The mtx is definitely working for me, the blood work has all been stable, and RA puts organs at risk, so I take the option to use the meds.
ReplyDeleteHi, It seems to me the meds are not working if you are still getting esr 33 remember its not conclusive though. How long are you stiff in the mornings? Organs at risk anyway RA.
ReplyDeleteCan i ask what part of the world you are from
